A wise man in his Early 90's responded intentionally when asked what advice he would give to the younger generation -I wish I stopped I could go back in time and be more appreciative of my life, I had 60billion problems only 4 of them were real problems , unknown. We tend to focus tremendously on our difficulties, and challenges dwelling on them so much so that we lose sleep, binge Eat, and allow anxiety to dominate us. We need to shift our mindset and literally hold space for the good things that happen around us every day. Holding space to me is being literal, simmering that moment, allowing our parts to appreciate something as small as clean water and the amazingness of an iRobot vacuum. LADIES Let s hold space for Each other as well -for great friendships, good food, wine, vibes, etc.
Another way to practice this intentionally is by keeping a gratitude journal and listing all the things you are grateful for daily whether it is the dishwasher or the weather. The point is to not allow the good things happening in our lives to be a brief moment of celebration but let it be celebrated for days. If we practice this, I know that we will begin seeing more and more positivity and evidently barely acknowledging the negative occurrences in our lives.
