STRENGTH

STRENGTH
“Challenges are gifts that force us to search for a new center of gravity.-Oprah

Does having strength mean that you never experience low vibrations and depression episodes? A lot of my friends always remind me how strong I am-I have been told that my entire life. I am usually on the uplifting end of 99.99% of my relationships. I struggled with the concept of being truly vulnerable and asking for support when things got hard and when I did, I felt like I needed to quickly get over it and stop complaining. I have literally apologized to friends for listening to my rant and thanked them for being supportive as if that isn't a normal expectation of a friend. As a single mother, I am always serving, fixing, cleaning, and worrying about my kids- when is the next appointment? What will I do for the next birthday party-crap it's in 2 weeks and I have yet to hand out invitations...I mean it is constant and then when you have a minute to process your complicated divorce/co-parenting situation, you quickly sob in the closet and return to making dinner with a smile on your face because their little brains do not need to be worrying about you. When do we get taken care of? by who? Did someone say just Go on dates? That's hilarious. With today's online dating BS It's a total Sh**T show my loves - when you've taken the time to heal you see red flags before they finish the first sentence -you quickly start wondering why the F you took the time to get dolled up and leave your babies with your old mom for an absolute waste of time. I don't even know where I was going with this post. Anyways, so when people say you are so STRONG and you feel like that's always supposed to be your reality? BABE ,that is your reality-you never stopped being strong- just because you had a meltdown doesn't make you weak-just because you spent the afternoon sobbing in your car does not mean you're a failure. Girl wipe your face, touch up on your makeup and burgundy lipstick- YOU GOT THIS. Strength is finding the grit to continue working towards what you absolutely love amidst all the distractions.
